Notice of Annual Election for 5 Year Term

LEGAL NOTICE

 

ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE LAKE SHORE FIRE DISTRICT

 

On December 13, 2011

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Lake Shore Fire District will take place on December 13, 2011 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Lake Shore Fire House located at  1 Long Pond Road, for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2012 and ending December 31, 2016. All voters registered with the Monroe County Board of Elections on or Before November 21, 2011 shall be eligible to vote.

 

Candidates for District Office shall have filed their names with the Secretary of the Lake Shore Fire District, at the fire house at 1 Long Pond Road, no later than twenty days before the election, November 23, 2011.

Legal Notice of Public Hearing on the Budget

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Lake Shore Fire District of the Town of Greece, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Lake Shore Fire District, for its consideration.

A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Shore Fire District Fire Hall, 1 Long Pond Road, Rochester, New York 14612, in the Town of Greece, State of New York on the 18TH   day of October, 2011.

Pursuant to Town Law §181[3], the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.

The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.

That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Greece at 1 Vince Tofany Blvd. and Fire District Secretary at 1 Long Pond Road, Rochester, New York 14612 where it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours 8:00 AM 4:00 PM.  A copy is also available here for download.

Permissive Referendum - Boat Reserve Fund

LEGAL NOTICE
LAKE SHORE FIRE DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that the following Resolution has been adopted by the Board of
Fire Commissioners of the Lake Shore Fire District on February 28, 2011 subject to a
Permissive Referendum.

RESOLVED, The Lake Shore Fire district Board of Fire Commissioners does hereby
authorize the Capital Expenditure from the Boat Reserve Fund the full amount of
$66,489.93 for the following items and inter related elements for water rescue services
as may be determined by the Fire District. The primary acquisition involves a 19 foot
Boston Whaler Guardian with Modified-V hull boat, with 150 hp out board motor,
applicable trailer and all appurtenant and essential safety and emergency equipment
necessary for the overall water rescue operation of the Lake Shore Fire District in
coordination and cooperation with the United States Coast Guard and or Monroe
County Sheriffs Department and any inter connected agencies. This is a necessary
implementation for the appropriate operation of the water rescue squad of the Lake Shore
Fire District as determined by a lengthy study of the Fire District Boat Committee and the
Board of Fire Commissioners. This boat will be purchased from the New York State Bid
list.

This resolution is made subject to the Permissive Referendum requirements set forth in
Section 6G in the General Municipal Law, and in the absence of a referendum election,
this resolution will be effective 30 days after the date of its adoption on February 28,
2011.

The Secretary of this board is directed to publish a notice containing this resolution in
compliance with the aforesaid Section 6G of General Municipal Law.

Permissive Referendum - Truck Reserve

LEGAL NOTICE
LAKE SHORE FIRE DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that the following Resolution has been adopted by the Board of
Fire Commissioners of the Lake Shore Fire District on February 28, 2011 subject to a
Permissive Referendum.

RESOLVED, that the Lake Shore Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners does
hereby approve and direct the transfer of $135,792.50 from the General Truck Reserve
Fund of the Lake Shore Fire District into the Building Reserve Fund of the Lake Shore
Fire District for the purpose of enabling appropriate funding of the following building
authorization.
Further Resolved, that this Board of Fire Commissioners does hereby approve and
authorize the total project and expenditure from the Building Reserve Account of the
Fire district a total amount of $1,790,411.00 from the overall combined balance of the
Building Reserve Fund balance on hand after transfer, for the project and purpose of the
project of demolition, site environmental and construction preparation of the Fire Station
located at 545 Ling Road, Greece, New York. This is the site of the existing fire station
facility and land ownership of the Fire District on Ling Road known as Lake Shore
Company #2.

Resolved that the transfer of funds as indicated and the overall project expenditure of
$1,790,411.00 are hereby approved by this body, subject to a Permissive Referendum in
accordance with section 6G of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, and
in the absence of a referendum election, this Resolution will be effective 30 days after
the date of its adoption on February 28, 2011. The Combined Resolution Unanimously
Approved.

The Secretary of this Board is directed to publish a notice of this resolution in compliance
with the aforesaid Section 6G of General Municipal Law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Lake Shore Fire District will take place
on December 14, 2010 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Lake Shore Fire House
located at 1 Long Pond Road, for the purpose of electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term
commencing January 1, 2011 and ending December 31, 2015 and one Commissioner for a vacated three
(3) year term, commencing January 1, 2011 and ending December 31, 2013. All voters registered with the
Monroe County Board of Elections on or Before November 22, 2010 shall be eligible to vote.

Candidates for District Office shall have filed their names with the Secretary of the Lake Shore Fire
District, on Certified Fire District Nominating Petitions available with the Secretary of the Lake Shore Fire
District at the fire house at 1 Long Pond Road, no later than twenty days before the election, November
24, 2010.

All candidates who have submitted completed District Nomination Petitions in form provided by the
Secretary of the Fire District and in accordance with the procedure and time lines required will have their
names listed on the printed ballots of the annual election in accordance with the legal requirements of
the applicable law. Final ballots will have an appropriate blank for the purpose of a write in candidate
accordance with legal requirements.

The Election Inspectors of the Lake Shore Fire District will prepare the Registration Rolls on November
29, 2010 at Lake Shore Fire Station #3, 1 Long Pond Road, Rochester NY 14612 between the hours of
6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE 2011 BUDGET

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Lake Shore Fire District of the Town of Greece, Monroe County, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Lake Shore Fire District, for its consideration.
 
            A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Shore Fire District firehouse located at 1 Long Pond Road, Rochester, New York, in the Town of Greece, Monroe County, State of New York on the 19th day of October, 2010.
 
            Pursuant to Town Law §105, the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing.  This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.
 
            The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.
